Vilnius “Žilvinėlio” nursery school-kindergarten, located in the Justiniškiu micro-district of Vilnius city, opened its doors to children in 1986 and was called the 49th nursery school-kindergarten. In 1988, the name “Žilvinėlio” nursery school-kindergarten was granted.

Main types of activities: early childhood, preschool and pre-school education. The children are educated according to the early, pre-school and pre-school education programs of the “Žilvinėlis” nursery-kindergarten, and the international “Friends of Zipis” program.

The institution has 12 groups: 3 – early childhood, 6 – preschool, 3 – pre-school education groups. Each group has its own name and rules for the behavior of the group’s children. The institution is equipped with music and sports halls, in groups there are various spaces for children’s self-expression, games, mini-sports, and recreation.

The mission is to develop the child’s understanding of the modern world, cultural and social competence and help the child acquire independence, activity, responsibility, the ability to continue learning and create a life, taking into account the current challenges facing society and the priorities of the knowledge society, safe society and competitive economy defined in the State’s long-term development strategy.

Vision – an institution that implements new forms and methods of education through purposeful and systematic cooperation of “Family-child-educator”, ensuring the development opportunities of early, preschool and pre-school age children in modern society.

Philosophy – the high quality of education makes it possible to value each child as an individual, recognizing his right to live and behave according to his nature, family upbringing traditions and experience; professional improvement, expansion, development, continuous self-evaluation – the guarantor of the quality and professionalism of education.
