The Assisi Porciunkule Chapel was built in the IV century and was chosen by the Oncology Center St. Prototype of Francis of Assisi Chapel in Klaipeda. St. Francis rebuilt it in the early 13th century.

An exceptional warm interpretation of the medieval sacral oncology center building, established in Klaipeda with biblical motifs and symbolic meanings. The selected volume of the almost identical chapel of primitive architecture is reformulated with precise and sensitive arranged accents. The authenticity of the shape is emphasized by framed volume outlines. The repeated motifs of the large brick walls and the frescoes on the main façade are emphasized by modern materials and geometrically modernist shapes. The arched ceiling of the church from a wooden structure is a hint to Noah’s ark. The jewelry nuances in this “miniature” ensemble of the church and the adjacent laconic bell tower are transformed into a harmonious fusion of medieval and modern architecture. The essential architectural moments of the religious buildings – sacredness and mystery were completed.
